As a packaging photographer in Amsterdam specializing in close-ups, we’re no strangers to intricate work, but photographing three coffee beans? That’s an entirely different brew. These tiny beans, just 2 square centimeters each, demanded precision on a microscopic level. Positioning them to look naturally placed but perfectly aligned was like trying to balance a teaspoon on a grain of rice. Add to this the fact that every scratch, dent, and speckle becomes glaringly obvious when the image is enlarged for packaging—it’s enough to make any food fotograaf reach for their double espresso.
Editing coffee beans might sound simple, but it’s anything but. Each bean underwent digital spa treatment: blemishes were softened, highlights enhanced, and the rich, earthy tones perfected. The final result? A trio of coffee beans that’s not only worthy of Jacobs’ premium packaging but also your caffeine-fueled dreams. This is why brands trust us—we know how to make tiny subjects look larger than life.
