Darras Coffee Roasters

Darras Coffee Roasters started as a small coffee roastery in Amsterdam, founded by Fawzi Darras. What began with his passion for roasting beans and creating a signature coffee blend has grown into eight welcoming cafés run by Fawzi and his sons. Alongside their rich coffees, they serve homemade Middle Eastern-inspired dishes — think fresh pita sandwiches, falafel, hummus, and rolls packed with flavour. Our job? To capture that same warmth and quality in every image.

Making Sandwiches and Drinks Look Their Best

We spent a day in the studio photographing their full menu — from pitas and ciabattas to matchas, cappuccinos, and fresh juices. Fawzi himself prepared every sandwich for the shoot, making sure they looked (and smelled) just as good as they do in the café. We handled the set design, styling, photography, and retouching all in-house, so the final images were ready to shine both online and in print.

Once the studio work was done, we headed to their Haarlem branch to see the new menu photography in action. The images are now proudly displayed in the shop window, at the entrance, and above the counter — greeting every customer who walks in. Seeing those photos in their natural home is always the best part of the job.
